Canteen & break room acoustics: room for conversation
Lunch with colleagues. A catch-up between lessons. A moment away from the day’s tasks. Canteens and break rooms bring people together over food, conversation and a well-earned pause.
Explore acoustic wall panels and ceiling rafts that bring sound absorption into these shared spaces, making acoustics part of the interior.
Frequently asked questions
-
Why does our canteen sound so loud when it is busy?
When many people talk at once, voices mix with sounds from dishes, chairs and other activity. Hard surfaces reflect this sound back into the room, adding reverberation and making conversations harder to follow.
Sound-absorbing wall panels and ceiling rafts help reduce these reflections. They complement other measures, such as managing noise from furniture and equipment.
-
Can we add sound absorption without reducing seating capacity?
Wall panels and suspended ceiling rafts introduce sound absorption without occupying floor space. This makes them useful in rooms where the layout needs to accommodate tables, chairs and circulation.
Placement should take account of furniture, available fixing surfaces and ceiling installations.
-
Can acoustic solutions be installed in an existing canteen or break room?
Yes. Acoustic products can be added to existing rooms, with the appropriate solution depending on the available surfaces, fixing conditions and acoustic needs.
Check the installation requirements for each product, including suitable mounting points and clearance around lighting, ventilation and other services.
Contact us at mail hello@dampa.dk for product dimensions and installation information.
-
Are metal acoustic products suitable for busy shared spaces?
Metal provides a robust, durable outer surface, making it a practical material for products in frequently used interiors. Our acoustic wall panels and ceiling rafts combine this durability with sound absorption.
Cleaning and care should follow the instructions for the product and its finish.
-
Can we choose colours that match our interior?
Yes. Standard finishes available online depend on the product, while special RAL colours can be ordered by contacting us. Selected products also offer digital print.
